Elder's Quorum Meeting - Zoom link December 27, 3:15pm

 Hello Brethren,

Our Elders Quorum Zoom meeting on Sunday the 27th at 3:15 will be based on the talk:
God Will Do Something Unimaginable by Elder Uchtdorf from the October 2020 session of General Conference.
Please read the talk before our quorum meeting and be prepared to comment on what impressions you had as you reviewed it. The Relief Society lesson will be based on the same talk at 2:30, so for those of you with a RS sister in your home this is a great chance to read and discuss the talk together before class!
See you there!

November 29th Sacrament Meeting Updates - 5th Sunday Lesson Invite

Good Sunday Morning! I just wanted to send a friendly reminder that we will be having a broadcast only Sacrament meeting today at 1pm Please visit westlandstake.org for the video link as usual. Today our 2:30 pm lesson (all ages are invited to attend) will be centered on watching and discussing Pres. Nelson's recent Video message, invitation, and prayer of gratitude. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i51gcWCs-Ho The Zoom link for that is: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/86914309216... Meeting ID: 869 1430 9216 Passcode: 313730 Next week December 6th is our Fast and Testimony Meeting and we will hold Sacrament meeting in person so all those who wish to attend and share their testimonies may do so. We will administer the Sacrament to those in attendance afterwards, it will also be broadcast to those at home and we thank you for remaining so flexible with our sacrament meeting schedules as we try our very best to keep everyone safe and provide an uplifting spiritual experience for the Ward. It is my goal to no longer need to cancel outright a Sacrament meeting and so there might be some weeks that it is broadcast only as we move through the winter months in particular. I would like to reiterate that we can have as few as 6 people in the chapel which keeps it plenty safe to attend as a speaker so my invitation to speak in person or to have one of the Bishopric read it on your behalf stands! Also please sign up to participate in this years #LightTheWorld (one by one) https://www.comeuntochrist.org/light-the-world-2020 What a wonderful opportunity to follow our Saviors life long example of service as we celebrate His birth in December.

November 15th Sacrament Meeting Cancellation and Update

Good Morning my friends!  A quick update and apology for not sending this earlier in the week, but we had to work out some details and await some information from our church leaders regarding the new State Mandate and how it affects our Sacrament meeting options. First I want to assure you that we are doing all we can as a Bishopric and Ward Council and as your friends and neighbors to keep each other as safe and protected as we can, yet still allow us to be together in a supportive and uplifting way. Please know that any decision we make to limit any activity or event or to proceed with one is always done after much prayer, thought and consideration.   With that in mind I have felt it proper to support the intent and spirit of the new Statewide mandate issued this week to not hold an in person Sacrament meeting. I want to point out that religious gatherings are still allowed, but I personally feel it's important to not ask for exemptions in maintaining consistent safe behavior. I don't feel it right to ask us to abide by one set of actions during the week yet not on Sunday. Other Wards in the Stake however will still meet and if you like you can view their streams via the westlandstake.org website at 9am,12 noon and 1pm. We will revisit the decision for next weeks Sacrament meeting tomorrow and I would love to hear your thoughts and ideas about it. We will still be holding our Sunday School class at 2:30pm tomorrow here is the Zoom link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/86914309216...Meeting ID: 869 1430 9216Passcode: 313730 Please note that this is the same link as last weeks meetings. Our youth Sunday School class for all 11-18 yr olds will follow immediately afterwards on the same meeting. I highly encourage us all to attend this meeting to see and hear from each other and our wonderful teachers who have prepared all week for our discussion. Please take the time we would have had for our Sacrament meeting to study the lesson or to watch a few conference talks to be ready to participate at 2:30. Please remember that you do not have to be on camera to attend, I know many of you are camera shy (Although you're all gorgeous and we miss seeing you!) you can attend and simply keep the video off and join by audio only if that's more comfortable to you. Please join us! Also the Stake will be broadcasting a Stake Presidency Devotional on Sunday November 22nd at 6pm-7pm Each member of our Stake Presidency will speak and this will be in place of our Stake Conference. Also Pres. Nelson has announced that he will be giving a short video message of "Hope and Healing" this week on Friday Nov 20th at 11am https://newsroom.churchofjesuschrist.org/article/message-coming-nov-20-hope-healing-president-nelson That video will be made available for viewing on the church's website if you miss it Friday. We will also be watching and discussing this video as part of our 5th Sunday lesson at 2:30pm on Sunday the 29th. Thank you my friends for your patience and understanding through all of these challenges and changes, realize it's temporary, we've had great news on future vaccines and treatments and thank all of you for your prayers and fasting for those results it is truly miraculous how fast they've been developed and we thank our loving Heavenly Father for that blessing. Please stay safe, make wise choices and be a good example to your families and friends and know that a little sacrifice now will be worth a better tomorrow. As always if you have questions or concerns about anything please do not hesitate to call, email or text me.

Halloween piano truck

Looking at the weather we think that rather than make a few long stops we will play Halloween piano tomorrow (Friday, 23 October) more like regular truck caroling, and mostly keep moving. But we'll stop for a song or two where people want to come out to meet us.

We'll start at Gina and Jared Johnson's at 4pm (7072 S 2980 W). From there we'll go to Searle's on 7000 S, and around to 2700 W. I expect that we'll start west on 7180 S about 4:30. We'll follow that to Jasperson's at the end of 7140 S somewhere between 5pm and 5:15 depending on how many people come out to say hi. From there we'll go down 7085 S and turn around in the circle by Hillman's and Kitchen's, probably about 5:45, but again, we could be earlier or later. Lastly, we'll go clockwise around the loop around 7105 S to 7050 S and Carter Circle. We plan on finishing up in front of Koehler's by 7pm.

We do not plan on playing on Saturday the 24th.

Please pass the word around. We look forward to seeing many of you!

Leigh

Sacrament Meeting Livestream link and Updates for October 2020

Good Sunday Morning my friends! It's so good to talk with you today after a wonderful General Conference weekend. I hope that you all took some time last week to watch or listen to the wonderful talks that were given, they were truly inspiring and inspired messages from a loving Heavenly Father. If you missed any I would sincerely hope that you would visit the church's website and watch them. I look forward to reviewing and discussing a small selection of them with you over the next few months in our Relief Society and Elders Quorum classes. During the General Conference weekend the Stake installed and set up a new system for our weekly Sacrament Meeting broadcasts with new cameras and audio system. We are hopeful that this will greatly simplify your ability to view our Sacrament meeting and with improved sound and video. The weekly link for the video will be the same every week and is accessed simply by going to https://westlandstake.org/ it will look like this:
Please click on the View Sacrament Meeting Live bar:
Click on the 4th Ward bar and you will see our video player:
And that's it! It will be the same page every week! If you'd like the direct link to save it is: https://westlandstake.org/4th if the video doesn't play by 1pm please just refresh the page. We don't anticipate any problems however anything can happen with technology so please be patient and if you are not able to see or hear anything please send a text my way to let me know. I appreciate all of your patience so far as we try to get this all set up to allow us all to be together in these unique times. Also by way of announcement it is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear friend Bro. Rick Brown on September 27th. He will be greatly missed! His family has written a wonderful tribute to him that you can view by clicking here This is the announcement for his memorial service: "The family will be holding a celebration of life for Rick on October 17, 2020. The day he was diagnosed with cancer he had a meeting with his family and said, “No pity parties.” And we wish to honor him and his life with a celebration. There will be an open house at his home from 5:30P-7:00P. We will have hot dogs and hamburgers, and a memorial of his life set up that you can look at. If you aren’t able to attend but still would like to express memories or condolences, please email dnicolebrown4@gmail.com. If you need the address to his home, please contact Nicole 801-694-7331." Thank you everyone for your wonderful service and heartfelt prayers for the Brown family and for all those in the Ward that are in need at this time. It is a great reminder of the power of service and caring for our neighbors that we can do wonderful things through simple acts. Please check on your neighbors, families and friends and let your Relief Society and Elders Quorum presidencies know of any needs or concerns so we may rally the Ward to help. Thanks, and we look forward to seeing you at 1pm! -- Sincerely, Bishop Howard Jackman

September Church Update - A return to Weekly Sacrament meetings and Virtual 2nd hour.

 Hello my dear friends!

It's September and the Summer of 2020 has come and gone, it's certainly been one for the record books.

I apologize for waiting until now to send this email however we needed to clarify and make plans to support the new direction we've been given from the First Presidency and our Area Presidency concerning Sacrament meetings and we are ready to let you all know how that should look for the next little while.

Under the direction of the First Presidency, the Area Presidency and our Stake Presidency starting this Sunday the 20th of September we will return to a weekly Sacrament meeting at the Church with a starting time of 12 Noon. We would like to invite all who desire to attend to please join us for a Sacrament meeting. We will continue to practice Social distancing in the chapel this means every other row will be left empty to provide spacing between families and to allow the Sacrament to be passed safely, Masks are strongly encouraged and we will have hand sanitizer available. I want to emphasize that all the safety precautions we put into place months ago will be the same, with cleaning of the chapel taking place before and after the meeting, We are excited that we have been given the chance to also live stream the meeting to all those in the Ward that are not able to attend in person because of health, age or other risk factors. To all those that are not able to come and partake of the Sacrament in person, you are authorized to continue to administer the sacrament in your home. I invite all those who have not received the Sacrament in awhile to please reach out to their Ministering Elders/Sister or any member of the Bishopric, Elders Quorum Presidency or Relief Society Presidency and let us know so we can work with you to safely receive that sacred ordinance.
A few details about Sacrament meeting and the live stream, our meeting will be modified so that the actual Sacrament ordinance will not be shown, instead we will have an opening song and prayer followed by a few talks and a closing song and prayer. At that point the video will end and you are invited to have your administration of the sacrament in your home while those at the Church will partake of the Sacrament as normally administered.
Another new change will be the return to a 2nd hour of church, this will be held completely online through live video streaming and will take place at a time to be announced sometime later this week as we work out those details as we want to give those attending in Church the time to return home before those video classes begin, we will follow the normal routine of 1st and 3rd Sundays will be Gospel Doctrine and Sunday School classes and 2nd and 4th Sundays our Relief Society, Elders Quorum and Young Women classes and Aaronic Priesthood Quorum classes. Bro Kai Hintze will be contacting all the Sunday School teachers to help give you support in understanding how this will work, we are expecting some confusion, technical mishaps and some funny moments as we learn how to come together while staying apart. Please be patient with us as we all figure this out. We will hold a Fast and Testimony meeting on the 1st Sunday of each month as we did before and I personally look forward to being able to hear your wonderful testimonies once again.

Unfortunately Primary is still suspended for the near future, Our Primary Presidency has been tasked with helping families with Primary aged children to enhance their Sabbath worship and activities with their wonderful children, and we look forward to seeing what they will have for you.

That is a lot of information, I'm sure you will have questions and we will do our best to answer them as they come in, please do not hesitate to text, call or email me or any of the presidencies. I will also keep you updated as we finalize the software and methods of streaming to allow us all to view the Sacrament meeting and 2nd hour classes. Look forward to an email later this week with some of that information.

We will see some of you in person and the rest virtually this Sunday at Noon!

--
Sincerely,
Bishop Howard Jackman

August Sacrament Meeting update and Fireside annoucement

Hello my dear friends of the 4th Ward!

August! can you believe that we've already reached the last month of Summer? And we thought July was warm (see last month's email) I hope that despite all that we are currently enduring that you and your loved ones have been able to make some good memories this summer. In any case it's definitely been one for the history books, and one we won't soon forget.

As a Bishopric and Ward Council we have met and again decided for the safety of our Ward family to not hold a Sacrament meeting in August. Please continue to hold Sacrament in your Home and please let me or any member of the Bishopric know if there is any question you may have and if you need help to receive the Sacrament in your home. I would ask you to please review last months email and Elder Porter Collins wonderful advice for helping to make Sacrament in your home's a special spiritual experience.
I know we feel disappointed in not being able to meet together in person and so we would like to hold another virtual Fireside for the entire Ward on Sunday the 23rd at 11:30 am, Bro Latimer will conduct and has a wonderful presentation prepared for us.
Here is the link:
https://us02web.zoom.us/j/82055839551?pwd=VEh2Yi9iYy9OelMxSjVmZWdmWk1mUT09
Meeting ID: 820 5583 9551
Passcode: 844726

We will send another reminder next week. We ask you to remind and invite all your neighbors and Ministering families and sisters so all may attend.

And finally a little thought as I close this email of the power of listening to the spirit, I have found in my life that I often miss the spirits 1st (or even 21st) prompting simply because I was not listening for it. I am very grateful for the chance Heavenly Father gives me to try again and again when at first I fail to Hear Him. This week two short but timely notifications reached me via social media and email from the church, the first was a short thought shared by Pres M. Russell Ballard on his twitter account (How cool is it that he and all the Apostles have those!) in which he shared this:  "Receiving revelation comes, at least in my case, when I have still and quiet moments. You cannot connect with heaven in a mass of clutter. You have to find those quiet moments in your life when you can contemplate the things of the Spirit. "
What a powerful message from someone we know and sustain as a prophet seer and revelator!
The next one was in an email from the Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square's newsletter in which they shared this amazing performance from the Soprano artist Sissel from last summers Pioneer Concert: https://youtu.be/EFe84U__kt8  This song was based on  Psalm 46:10, “Be still, and know that I am God,”
What an incredibly powerful song and reminder!
As the scripture says "In the mouths of two or more witnesses..."  I may still struggle to hear the spirit as quickly as I should, but in this case it was loud and clear that I and you needed to hear this message.
Be still, Hear Him, and know that He is God!
We love you my friends! We pray for and ponder on how we can best help you, please continue to listen for the spirits promptings and be ready to act upon those impressions. Our Heavenly Father loves you and wants you to have joy and happiness in this life and has asked us to help each other in that journey.

Sincerely,
Bishop Jackman

Sacrament Meeting for June 21st 2020 - Details

Hello dear members of the 4th Ward!

Well the time has come at last, next Sunday the 21st of June will be our turn to hold a Sacrament meeting in the Chapel, we will meet at 10:30am. This will be a very different Sacrament meeting from what you are used to having, we are meeting under some very serious challenges that necessitate some extreme measures to keep us all safe. I want you to be aware of what these will be so that as you ponder the decision this week on whether to attend or not that you will know the risks and precautions.  I would encourage you to watch the video that Pres. Barlow sent out recently about returning to church:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uPe5fOuvVG4  I echo and support the guidelines that he shares and also the power of increasing your personal ministering to your assigned families, sisters, neighbors and friends to extend to them your love and service.

Okay, here are what to expect at church next Sunday-
1. Anyone who feels ill, has a fever, or any other symptoms—related or not to the
COVID-19 virus—should stay home to prevent exposure to others. Even if it's just the sniffles from allergies or a teething child please stay home.
2. Members in the high-risk categories (65 years old and above, with respiratory issues
or other compromised health), should stay home!
3. All members attending are encouraged to wear face masks! (Please bring your own facemasks) All who will be administering the sacrament must wear a face mask. We will most likely need a few Elders to assist in administering the Sacrament- if you desire to help please make sure to have a facemask. (All administering the Sacrament will also use Hand Sanitizer prior to handling the Sacrament and trays)
4. The meetinghouse will need to be sanitized prior to each sacrament meeting, and at the end of the sacrament meeting. We want to thank the Jasperson's and Motteshards for volunteering to help in this, they will need help for the next few months as this continues and will train you on how to properly sanitize the chapel and other areas. Please contact a member of the Bishopric if you would like to help in July and August.
5. Please no Handshakes, Hugs, etc I know this goes against every fiber of our Member DNA, also please no congregating before or after inside the building. If you must gather please do so afterwards outside in the parking lot.
6. Bathrooms and using the Water Fountain should be avoided if at all possible. The meeting will last less than 45 mins.
We will not be singing as a congregation, this will feel very odd, but is for our safety, instead we will have either just instrumental or pre recorded music played over the speakers.
Please sit by family groups or properly spaced between individuals only - rows will be marked off as reserved to help us maintain proper distancing and to allow the priesthood brethren room to administer the sacrament without having to "pass" the trays down each row, instead they will present the trays to you each individually with a separate water tray to dispose of the used water cup. This will also cause the passing of the Sacrament to take longer, please be patient and reverent during this extra time and use it to reflect upon our Savior's sacrifice and love for you.
There will only be one speaker per Sunday, we will begin with a member of the Bishopric first and then invite as needed in the months to come. We anticipate the meeting to last no more than 45 mins and possibly quite less, closer to 30 mins.
We wish to keep the distractions of this new method to a minimum, but as you can tell it will be quite different than you are used to experiencing, please know that our first priority is your safety, followed by maintaining the sacred solemness of the ordinance of the Sacrament.
Brothers and Sisters, we love you and miss you and want to see you all, but we cannot stress enough how important it is that we be safe. I personally would be devastated to learn that anyone became sick because they attended a Sacrament meeting. We have been given the tools, authority and means to provide Sacrament in our homes, you may continue to do so for June and July without having to attend a meeting in the chapel. If you have not had the Sacrament in some time, please contact your Ministering Elders, Elders Quorum Presidency, Relief Society Presidency, or member of the Bishopric and we will arrange a way for you to have the Sacrament safely administered.
Please show kindness and compassion to those who chose to wear a mask and those who choose to not wear a mask. If you are not comfortable with being in a place with mixed use of masks then please stay home.

There is absolutely no pressure or expectation of any kind for you to attend the meeting next Sunday! I would much rather see nobody attend then all of you. I know that sounds strange, but I believe it is too serious of an issue to risk becoming sick for something we can take care of in the safety of your home. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to reach out to me.
Sincerely,
Bishop Howard Jackman

Sacrament Meeting Update - May 2020

Good Sabbath day my friends!

It is such a wonderful Spring day today as we head into Memorial Day, I am so grateful for the tremendous blessing we share of living in this blessed country and land. I am also grateful for the opportunity this holiday gives us to reflect upon and remember those who have had an impact on our lives, and who are no longer with us. May we all take a moment to give thanks to our Heavenly Father for His wonderful plan of redemption and happiness that gives us the knowledge of life after death and the hope of joy with loved ones in the eternities.

Today the Bishops of the Westland Stake met with our wonderful Stake Presidency to discuss the new guidelines released by the First Presidency this past week concerning a return to Sacrament and other meetings. That announcement can be found here: I wanted to share with you some of the things we discussed and what you can look forward to in the near future.

First the guidelines released are very general, the First Presidency and the Area Presidencies are entrusting local leaders under their Stake Presidents to formulate plans specific for each Stake and Ward, you may hear of other Stakes that have or will start before the Westland Stake, please know that all our decisions have been and will be with the safety of all Members first and foremost. We desire greatly to return to a sense of normalcy, but nothing about the current situation is normal, so we must prepare for the challenges and be ready to adjust accordingly and remain flexible for more changes as needed. Under current guidelines and with current cleaning supplies the Westland Stake is not yet ready for a safe return to meetings just yet, you are authorized to continue with Sacrament in your homes for the next two weeks at least, (so through June 7th) we have formed several committees with Bishops from every Ward that will focus on certain aspects of a safe return, I am on the Cleaning and Sanitation committee and welcome any input for thoughts and ideas and concerns you may have. I wish to emphasize that even with a return to meetings in whatever shape and form they might take that you realize and understand that you are NOT required to attend if you feel uncomfortable or unsafe in any way! There will be guidelines and conditions to be able to attend and some strong encouragements as well, but your "standing or activity" in the church will not be based on your attendance and I will authorize all who wish to remain at home the ability to receive the Sacrament there.  Please be patient with us and each other as we work out the details necessary to do all of this safely.

Please take this time to increase your Ministering efforts and contacts with your assigned Families and Friends and your next door neighbors. Bro. Johnson share a wonderful scripture and thought today in our Bishopric meeting and I think we could all benefit from it's advice
D&C 88:123-126
123 See that ye alove one another; cease to be bcovetous; learn to impart one to another as the gospel requires.
124 Cease to be aidle; cease to be bunclean; cease to cfind fault one with another; cease to dsleep longer than is needful; retire to thy bed early, that ye may not be weary; arise early, that your bodies and your minds may be einvigorated.
125 And above all things, clothe yourselves with the bond of acharity, as with a mantle, which is the bond of perfectness and bpeace.
126 aPray always, that ye may not faint, until I bcome. Behold, and lo, I will come quickly, and receive you unto myself. Amen.

I love how it starts with "See that ye love one another"! and then the Lord calls us to action, we have been given a gift of the one thing we always seem to need - Time, or at least in the sense that we have had to change our regular schedules and plans and maybe even traditions to fit within the new way of things. Are we using that time wisely? Bro. Johnson posed this thought to ponder - "We have lost the ability to do some things, but there are still so many things that we can do" Are we using this time to improve ourselves? our relationships? our Homes or yards? our Physical well being? Our mental well being? our Testimony and knowledge of the Gospel? Are we doing Temple and Family History work? Our Prophet and Stake President have asked each of us to find and prepare 1 family name for when we are able to return to the Temple, to index 1 batch! And to add 1 memory to your Family tree on Family Search. If you're reading this email on a phone chances are you have a fun photo of an adventure or experience recently...Open Family Search and add that one photo with a brief or long description to your tree. Congrats! you just finished one thing that will bring promised blessings to you and your family, want to know what those are? watch/read Pres. Nelsons talk from April's amazing Conference  here's a sneak peak - "What will happen as you more intentionally hear, hearken, and heed what the Savior has said and what He is saying now through His prophets? I promise that you will be blessed with additional power to deal with temptation, struggles, and weakness. I promise miracles in your marriage, family relationships, and daily work. And I promise that your capacity to feel joy will increase even if turbulence increases in your life."

Sisters and Brothers, I love you! I miss you and I know we all miss each other, please be patient awhile longer as we work out how to return safely to being together again. May our dear Heavenly Father bless and protect you and your loved ones, is my continual prayer. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Valene and I spent some time today going through the talks and material that President Barlow invited us to study as a substitute to Stake Conference. It included Present Nelson's invitation to increase our participation in family history research and indexing.

This afternoon I sat down to follow up on a name I had found last week. It turned out to be the most rich line of family members who need their temple work done that I have ever encountered. In a little over an hour I had found (with Valene's help) ELEVEN individuals who need almost all of their work done. Nearly all of them have additional hints and sources that will undoubtedly lead to many more family members. Important linkages for children who were previously unknown to family search have been made now, and a large family is nearly ready to be baptized, ordained, endowed, and sealed.

I feel strongly that the Lord is guiding and blessing this work as we try to step up our efforts during this period of more discretionary time. Those on the other side of the veil must be cheering us on and praying for our success as they see additional opportunities to find them and be ready to provide these most valuable ordinances when the temples reopen.

I feel confident that you will find success where you may have been frustrated in the past if you will prayerfully spend some time looking for these precious ancestors. If you don't know where to start, contact Bill or Luana Moulton. They will help you find success!

Consecrate Thy Performance Unto Thee That thy performance may be for the welfare of thy Soul

This morning in Bishopric and Ward Council I was asked to share a scripture. Bishop asked that I share this scripture with our ward and my experience with you. I Love you and look forward to meeting and serving with you again.

In second Nephi Chapter 32:9 it says "But behold, I say unto you that ye must pray always, and not faint; that ye must not perform any thing unto the Lord save in the first place ye shall pray unto the Father in the name of Christ, that he will consecrate thy performance unto thee, that thy performance may be for the welfare of thy soul."
For the last few months we have had to live without being able to attend church meetings including sacrament meetings, presidency meetings family history meetings, meeting in person to minister any may more. These meetings have always included prayer. Prayer is one of the most powerful tools we have that invite the spirit and help prepare our minds and hearts to be directed by the spirit.
When reading this scripture it dawned on me that I need to look for more opportunities to invite my Heavenly Father more to guide me whenever I am trying to do something for him or to learn from him. What a difference it has made.
A couple areas where it has made a difference is in personal scripture study and come follow me. Another area has been before blessing the sacrament in my home or helping someone by giving a priesthood blessing. In each situation the spirit has been noticeably different.
What a great opportunity we have in our homes during this period of social distancing and after to include our Heavenly Father in everything we do from serving our family members, to family history, indexing, personal study and many more.

Brothers and Sisters I invite you to invite him in all that you do. Love Brother Latimer

Westland 4th Ward - Family History and Indexing

What to do, what to do?... Did you know that now is the perfect time to start working on your Family History? Poor Sis. Moulton has so much time on her hands right now and has asked for you to help her fill her days up with helping you to find family names, index records to help others and to get so much ready for when the temples reopen that they'll have to keep them open 24 hours a day!

Here's what she has offered:
"Hope everyone is doing well!!! I wanted to remind everyone that I am available to help anyone who would like to learn how to index, find ancestors on family search, or help if you get stuck in your indexing efforts. With indexing, I can pull up the batch you are indexing up on my computer at home and see exactly what you are indexing to better help you. I can guide you to batches that are easier than others and teach you how to return batches if you get going on one and realize you are “over your head.” I can send you an email request and if you grant me permission, I will be able to see your family tree on family search. From here, I can help you find ancestors who are ready for temple work or can help you find new ancestors. We all probably have a little more time on our hands and if you would like some help filling some of that time with something that will bring you great joy and fulfillment PLEASE feel free to let me know!!!! - Sis. Luana Moulton

Now how nice is that? and you know what so are all the other Temple and Family History Consultants! In case you don't know who they are - Bishop Bill Moulton,Sis. Bonnie Hansen,Sis. Cami Knapp.
All are super eager to help you and they can do it remotely over the phone, on your computer/phone/tablet and can even video conference with you to help you one on one, or as a family.
We have a wonderful opportunity to really make a difference in our lives and those of our families when we participate in Temple and Family History. If it seems too daunting may I suggest that you simply start with telling your own history in Family search by updating your story and that of your family first. I promise that as soon as you start you will find a greater desire to do more and will be blessed for your efforts.
See what blessings we've been promised:

Welcome to the Westland 4th Ward Website

Hello Friends!

This is the Westland 4th Ward website where we will post news, updates, activities, announcements and hopefully some great stories of service and faith.
I've set up this website as a central gathering place for all to come for important information and a place that will allow all who visit to feel free to interact and share as they want. The Westland 4th Ward has a Facebook page and I also have an Instagram account where I try to share the same information, but I know that many don't have or want to have those accounts so I decided that a centrally accessible website might be a good place to congregate especially as we practice "Social Distancing" - is anyone else tired of hearing that phrase yet?...

So welcome, stop by and subscribe so that you will be notified of any and all new posts, comments etc. so that you can stay informed and up to date with our Ward, neighborhood and events, activities and to stay in touch with each other-hopefully in a fun and entertaining and useful way.
Thanks!
Everyone please be safe and we'll talk soon.
Bishop Jackman

From my walk with Zoe earlier today I discovered these fun surprises...

Words of Wisdom! 😊

Saw these beautiful spring flowers in Joyce Riley's front yard along the Sidewalk - Spring has come and the Earth is awakening, it's so good to be reminded that life is thriving, better days are ahead, but sometimes we need to look to see it.
